Use the Web Design Checklist to gather information and ideas together before presenting your material to your web designer. This can save you time and money, as well as give you an idea as to what goes into designing a web site.
These are things you should have prepared before having a web site created or updated:

__Your Name
__Contact info:
__Address or PO Box
__Phone
__Fax
__best time and place to contact you/hours of service
__current email(s)
__names of people you want email accounts set up for
__Nature of your business - music, technical, spiritual, etc
__What you would like to accomplish with the site
__Who your targeted audience is
__What your product or service is
__Whether or not you want to sell online and accept credit cards online
__How many different products/services you have and catagories of.
__Do you want to include prices on the site?
__Sensitive material that you would like to protect with passwords
__Will you want a chat room
__How often you want it updated
__Your Logo (if you have one)
__Some history about you or your company
__Your mission statement
__Current photographs of you and your products
__Technical information about any products
__Current mailing lists
__Will you want to create a database
__Will you offer memberships
__When you would like to be up and running
__Similar sites that you like, and what you like about them.
__Sites that you would like include links to from your site
__desired domain name and acceptible variations
__Acceptible amount of advertising from other sites
__FAQ's about your products/services
